I am thankful for the X-Files.
Recently, an unaired kiss scene between Scully and Mulder was released onto the internet. Gasp. What's weird is that although I am a shipper and do support the matrimony of Mulder and Scully, this kiss was uncalled for. I much liked the bee sting and Scully listing off her symptoms from the sting. It has taught me the lesson that when stung by an extraterrestrial biological entity through a bee, I should list out what I'm feeling whilst I'm falling in and out of consciousness, rather than my last words.
Anywho, here is the scene that has been released after 10 years.
I must say that that is one of the longest held and wonkiest kisses I have ever seen. I LOVE IT. It's sooo much more passionate and beautiful than the final kiss in IWTB. But the cute thing is that he carries her, which is an 'aww' moment for me as well as 'zomg mulder and scully getting it on! win!'
Also the blooper reel from Fight the Future has been released as well! Which isn't as funny as all of the other seasons, but is still worth watching.
Oh, oh, oh! AND there still is a possibility for THE X-FILES 3!! Purportedly if the sales of the DVD's of I Want to Believe are high, then we will be graced with a third movie, in which David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and the rest of the crew have already agreed upon doing. Actually, the producer, Frank Spotnitz actually admitted that the release of the movie, a week after The Dark Knight, was wonky and that The X-Files got creamed, which I totally agree upon. BUT I do hope that they come out with a third movie, just because the X-Files mythos circled around the 2012 legend so much. It'll be an alien conspiracy movie, which is heartwarming.
The bad thing is, that Spotnitz has said that the continuation of the X-Files is only limited to movies, and not television or television movies. That's fine with me as long as they continue and finish the mythos somehow. The series left off on a sort of cliffhanger in pertinence to the mythos, Scully and Mulder are fugitives knowing that 2012 was going to be the initiation of the alien colonization. However, in I Want to Believe, no real inklings as to 2012 have been hinted at, which is acceptable for a Monster of the Week type film, but still.
Here's to The X-Files and unaired decades old footage!
